What is eDPI?
eDPI (effective Dots Per Inch) combines your mouse's DPI setting with your in-game sensitivity multiplier: eDPI = Mouse DPI × In-Game Sensitivity. Two players can have very different DPI and sensitivity settings but end up with the same eDPI, meaning their mouse actually moves the same distance on screen for the same physical hand movement.
Why does eDPI matter?
DPI alone doesn't tell you how fast your crosshair actually moves, because it interacts with the game's separate sensitivity setting. eDPI strips that out, which is why competitive players use it to compare setups, replicate a pro player's feel on a different mouse, or keep their sensitivity consistent when switching between games like Valorant, CS2, and Fortnite that use different sensitivity scales.
