Why does bandwidth matter?
Many hosting plans cap monthly bandwidth or charge extra once you exceed it, so estimating usage in advance helps avoid unexpected fees or a suspended site during a traffic spike. It's also a useful sanity check before launching a campaign or going viral — heavy pages (large images, video) combined with high traffic can consume bandwidth far faster than expected.
